William Ernest Tippetts, 55, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center after years of battling Fabry Disease and various illnesses.
William is survived by his wife, Bernie Tippetts; his daughter, Chelsea Tippetts; his son, William Tippetts; his sister, Kathie Helmkamp; and his brother, Bryan Tippetts.
William was born on July 31, 1959 in Manhattan, New York, to parents, William B. Tippetts and Betty Sue Dabbs Tippetts. He graduated from University of South Florida in 1984 with a degree in geography. He worked as a GIS specialist, but was a self-taught man, who educated himself in computer programing and was hired as a computer programmer who worked for the government. He worked at a government facility in Dahlgren, VA for seven years before becoming too ill to work, which is when he retired on disability.
William was a great husband and loving father. He married Bernie Tippetts in Hawaii in December 1993, and the couple enjoyed being antique dealers for four years, before finally settling down and having their two children together.
He was a kind and generous man, who was very into nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed collecting antiques, especially railroad memorabilia.
